State government cancels BPL ration cards of families with annual income above ₹1.20 lakh in Nelamangala Taluk; names of affected cardholders displayed on notice boards at fair-price shops.

Bengaluru: The state government has delivered a big shock to BPL (Below Poverty Line) cardholders. BPL cards are meant only for poor families below the poverty line. However, recently, some families with an annual income of ₹1.20 lakh still possess BPL ration cards.

The government has now decided to cancel the ration cards of such families. Moreover, the names of the cardholders whose cards have been canceled have been displayed on notice boards in front of the fair-price shops.

In Nelamangala Taluk, the government is moving to delete the ration cards of over 4,000 people. The details of the canceled cards have been posted on the notice boards at the fair-price shops.

Notice Details:
The notice states that due to income from agriculture and other sources, the family’s annual income exceeds ₹1.20 lakh. Therefore, their ration cards are being canceled. It also mentions that this month will be the last distribution of ration, and from next month, no ration will be provided.
