Foxconn Becomes the Second Largest Unit: CM

Bengaluru: Robert Wu, the India head of Foxconn, a company renowned for manufacturing iPhones and their components, met Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday to discuss further investments and related matters.

The meeting took place at the Chief Minister’s official residence, Kaveri, in the presence of Large and Medium Industries Minister M.B. Patil, IT-BT Minister Priyank Kharge, Skill Development Minister Sharanprakash Patil, and Bengaluru Rural District In-Charge Minister K.H. Muniyappa.

Speaking with Wu, the Chief Minister said, “It is good that Foxconn has commenced industrial activities at its Devanahalli unit. The government will extend all necessary support for further expansion of the facility.”

Industries Minister M.B. Patil stated that the Devanahalli unit is Foxconn’s second largest facility, and the company is a leading global supplier to Apple. The iPhones produced at the Devanahalli plant are exported worldwide. He added that the company has invested ₹22,000 crore in this unit.

The meeting was also attended by Industries Department Principal Secretary Selvakumar, Commissioner Gunjan Krishna, and Managing Director of Karnataka Udyog Mitra Doddabasavaraju.
