Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah stated that Maharshi Valmiki, the author of the great epic Ramayana, was a rare poet the nation has ever seen.

On Tuesday, October 7, during the Valmiki Jayanti celebrations at Sri Maharshi Valmiki Tapovan, the CM garlanded the statue of Valmiki and later spoke to the media. He extended his greetings to the people of the state on the occasion and said that the festival commemorates Maharshi Valmiki, a great poet and author of the epic Ramayana.

He highlighted that although Valmiki was born in the Shudra community, he introduced the world to such a magnificent scripture. The statue of Valmiki was established in 2017. The CM also mentioned that saints like Valmiki and Kanakadasa lived socially responsible lives and promoted human values.

Regarding Cabinet Reshuffle:
Responding to questions about representation of leaders from the Nayaka community in the cabinet, he said it will be considered during the upcoming cabinet reshuffle.

On Shoe-Throwing Incident:
Commenting on the incident where shoes were thrown at Supreme Court Chief Justices, Siddaramaiah said that the Chief Justice forgave the incident, reflecting their greatness, but he strongly condemned such acts, calling it a Manuvadist act.
