Bengaluru: The caste census survey in the state is currently underway, with October 7 as the scheduled last day. However, some areas have not yet completed the survey, raising questions about whether the state government will extend the caste census or conclude it as planned tomorrow.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had expressed confidence that the survey would be completed by October 7. However, considering the pace of the survey, there are doubts about finishing within the expected timeframe.

A total of 1,43,77,978 households have been targeted for the caste census in the state. As of the latest available data (October 4), 1,2,83,172 households have been surveyed, leaving 40,94,806 households still to be surveyed.
